Vanderbilt University Basketball Locker Rooms

Vanderbilt University’s men’s and women’s basketball teams have newly renovated locker rooms that will inspire these Commodore athletes to reach for the stars! Inter-lux lighting by Whitegoods and Linea Light enhances the sleek architecture throughout these spaces.

Each 3,500-square-foot NBA-style facility features locker spaces with wireless charging stations, power outlets and iPad docks. To further accommodate the technology needs of these young players, a white Vanderbilt star logo, accented by a runway created with Linea Light’s Archiline product, serves as a photo wall for social media posts in the women’s locker room. Installed as a recessed in-grade line of light, Archiline provides wayfinding from the main entrance to the social media wall.

The Archiline family offers a wide range of linear outdoor luminaires that are competitively priced with great performance and glare control for illuminating vertical surfaces or continuous, clean lines for accent illumination at the ground plane. Options include a variety of outputs with dedicated narrow, wide, elliptical wall graze and asymmetric wallwash beam options and optical compartments designed to ensure a well-controlled beam of light. Easyplug connectors simplify installation and a choice of extruded 6060 anodized aluminum alloy or stainless-steel body provides superior passive heat dissipation and corrosion resistance.

4-inch square downlights from the Whitegoods ProTools series were chosen to provide efficient and modern lighting for the kitchen, otherwise known as The Fuel Zone, and an adjacent lounge area. The ProTools series offers plaster trim and bezel trim fixed, wall wash and adjustable downlights with various cover options and accessories, creating a flexible and versatile range of luminaires with a single consistent minimal appearance throughout.

Whitegoods 20 Linear Surface lighting enhances the curvature of the wall in a meeting space created for the men’s team. These thin lines of light easily integrate into the metal-paneled ceiling system with easily installed clips that are concealed within the fixture body. 20 Linear Surface is a versatile lighting tool designed to deliver general and accent illumination for any indoor application and in exact lengths. In addition to straight runs, complex configurations with factory corners can be factory built to exact lengths as specified.
