PTL and PTD3 Both Receive Gold Certification from Grands Prix Du Design

Two Inter-lux product ranges; ProTools 60 Linear (PTL) and ProTools 3” Downlights (PTD3), recently received Gold Certification from the 15th edition of the GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN award program! GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN is an annual competition that celebrates excellence in design, architecture, and the built environment.

An international jury of 70 experienced designers, architects, professors, entrepreneurs, journalists and publishers evaluated the excellence of products and projects submitted from more than 35 countries. Each product was judged on a point system to determine if that product was worthy of Gold, Silver or Bronze certification or no certification at all.

The main design objective of PTL is to deliver light to where it is needed, while making the luminaire a minimal visual impact on the space. We accomplish this by removing the bright lens from the ceiling plane and recessing multiple optical variants to deliver high-performance, extremely low-brightness illumination. Downlight, uplight, wall graze, wall wash and perimeter systems are available to accommodate all mounting conditions for a complete lighting solution.

ProTools Downlights, a range of professional lighting tools by Whitegoods, is a flexible and adaptable system that utilizes the form factor of LED to reduce visual impact. PTD3 was created to expand the existing 4-inch downlight family and give lighting designers even more options and flexibility. This new range can meet the demands of all spaces within a project, from the simplest to the most complex.

These two Whitegoods product ranges received Gold certification in the Industrial Design: Lighting category and both of these ranges have been recognized in previous award programs. PTL and PTD3 were both shortlisted for the 2021 [d]arc awards. PTL was a Winner of the 2021 Good Design Awards, a Finalist in the 2021 Architizer A+ Awards, and received an Honorable Mention from the 2020 LIT Lighting Design Awards.

Gold Certification recipients are finalists eligible to be named a Grand Winner or Platinum Winner at a Gala event that will be held in Quebec City on September 16, 2022.
