Maru is an award-winning, eco-minded hanging light fixture designed by lighting designer David Trubridge. The name Maru is found in both New Zealand Māori and Japanese languages, with reference to the cycle of life. Pieces of CNC-cut bamboo plywood create a flowing structure that also casts magical patterns. The effect of shadow play on surrounding walls and ceiling is Maru’s hidden quality. The pendant light shade is lit from within with a row of LED pin-point lights.
