Friends of the Earth US is an environmental organization founded in 1969 and headquartered in Washington, DC. As one of the founding organizations of Friends of the Earth International, the organization strives for social and environmental justice around the world. This nonprofit was in need of a build-out to accommodate growth and requested a warm, welcoming and environmentally-friendly 15,000 square foot office.

Greg Horgan, architect selected Inter-lux/Whitegoods products for the integration features that he was planning as a theme throughout the space. Selected to illuminate architectural features, rather than be features themselves, 20 and 60 series linear lighting from Whitegoods was used in different ways to create a cohesive look between the conference room, reception area and corridors.

Cost-effective pendants were used to illuminate specialty areas with its highly efficient, yet simple appearance. World-class lighting brings style to the reception area of this workplace.

Friends of the Earth now enjoys a visually appealing and efficient expansion of its Washington, DC location while staying true to its cause of protecting the environment, as this office achieved LEED Silver certification.
