1600 Market Street

Whitegoods 20 Linear products were used in several applications to assist the design team in revitalizing the 40-story, 38-year-old 1600 Market Street Building in Center City Philadelphia.

Collective Architecture, working with CM Kling + Associates for the lighting design, redesigned the outdated interior to accommodate the need for functionality, wellness and modern style expected by tenants who rent office space in this skyscraper. Amenities now include a coffee bar, collaborative workspaces, conference rooms, a fitness facility and social areas.

Energy efficient and seamlessly integrated Whitegoods lighting accentuates colorful pop art pieces strategically placed throughout the building.  A grid configuration of 20 Linear Suspended fixtures illuminates a conference room and brings focus to a chandelier at the center of the ceiling. The 20 Linear Recessed Plaster Trim outlines the chandelier in the main lobby and provides light and wayfinding in the hallways.

These slim and powerful luminaires are available in fixed lengths but can also be factory cut to exact field dimensions. Other possible configurations can accommodate standard and custom corners as well as changes in elevation such as wall-to-ceiling applications. Complex patterns can be realized with this flexible lighting system.

Whitegoods provides a curated range of lighting tools that seamlessly integrate into the architecture while making the absolute minimum visual impact on the space being illuminated.

An extensive renovation that focused on health and safety, in addition to cosmetic improvements, resulted in the landmark building achieving UL’s Verified Healthy Buildings Mark and IWBI’s WELL Health-Safety rating. Those fortunate enough to work in this space now benefit from a colorful office environment that encourages and promotes wellness for its tenants.
